Teach Yersen Scots – Thrawn

Someone who is thrawn is proud and obstinate, and places principle over self-interest. In their adherence to a point of principle they may act in a way that is damaging to their own welfare. For example, a politician might be described as thrawn if they risk damaging their political career by voting on a point of principle, rather than toeing the part line.
